Yes, the 400-hp engine is standard, but it's not a Northstar derivative. Actually, this V8 is similar in design to the small block found in the Chevy Corvette. A nylon cover with the Cadillac crest and "V" symbol is fitted over the engine as part of the noise reduction package. Cadillac claims the CTS-V will rocket from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
