So I was a huge fan of the Saab 9-3 hatchback, it's a quirky car, but one with quirks I really like. Yet now GM is changing it to this fugly piece of crap.
I can't believe they are turning the Saab 9-3, into a bloody modified Chevy Malibu.

although it does look similar to the malibu, it doesn't necessarily look bad. Besides, anything's better then the god awful look of the old saabs.

Heh, I am one of the few that liked the old look of the Saab's. I think there was a market segment that liked it, moving it to a high end Chevy Malibu really ruins the Saab look too. The interior also looks... unrefined.

Just add it to the list of things that GM screwed up:

Impala
The F-Bodies
Aztec
Malibu
...

I could think of more, but I'm too lazy right now :p

What? That car is sweet, and I would have never even thought about comparing it to a Malibu. C'mon. Seriously. Not even in the same class, man. The new 9-3 is very high quality and will compete with consumers from the same segments as BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes and Volvo. Here are some more pictures for the naysayers.

I don't mind the look of the new Saab, but now its looks rather generic. One thing about the old Saab's, there was no mistaking their look and like them or not they were distinct.

Ditto, and one of the very reasons why I took a strong liking to the sharp-line, "less-puffiness" E36-styling of my ride. :)

What I meant by like a Malibu, is it's based off the same platform. It's not so much that I mind this new design, it just doesn't really belong to the 9-3, which is a hatchback, and should stay that way. If the saab 9-5 was redesigned that way I wouldn't mind so much. I also have my doubts about this new engine, it sounds like it was designed by GM, whom I don't trust. The old Saab engine own3d :).
