Glowing Kindle

Question -

If I were to put a glow in the dark transparent sheet on my kindle screen, would that effectively serve as a "frontlight" and allow me to read in the dark?

My guess is that the sheets that advertise as transparent are actually translucent and would make it really really annoying to read, especially during the day, but does anyone know otherwise? Or what about transparent glow paint?

Why not a miner's light on a headband? Or a "Itty-Bitty Booklight" that clips on the Kindle? Or, . . .

I'm trying for something as subtle as possible (and cheap) to read in bed after my fiancee has fallen asleep

I use something called Kandle on my Nook. But SURPRISE! It was actually designed for the Kindle.

Works well enough to read in the dark. I've actually considered modding my Nook to house several LEDs that run off of the internal battery and has a separate switch. That might actually be a fun thing to do this weekend. If I break it I'll just buy a Nook Color
