This is the Glock 18 IIRC and its only sold to police and other special units, not the normal people.

Also, I think this gun comes with an optional 33 bullet clip.

Yeah these were made after 1986 and are off-limits to civilians. Class 3 isn't any more paper work than a handgun, just a long wait (few months).

A 1918 (AKA BAR) will set you back about $20K. If you 've got that at 21, hook me up with some 🙂
 
New full autos (made before... like 1984 or so....) cannot be purchased by civilians. It can be purchased by a dealer as a demo model to show to law enforcement... Assuming you have an FFL. Class 3 licenses apply to older fully automatic or 'destructive' weapons and can be obtained by any member of the public. Unfortunately, you have to have a class 3 for each weapon you have, and with a license fee between 100 and 500 dollars, and a wait time of approximately a year, Uncle Sam obviously doesn't want you to have full autos.

Edit: The model number escapes my mind, but there is a 92 based beretta that is available with 3 (2?) shot burst.
 
AFAIK, you only need your Class 3 license, you pay $200 transfer tax for each weapon tho, not a class 3 for every firearm.

Beretta 93R is the select fire model.

You can get a semi auto BAR for around $4K, I think Ohio Ordnance is making them.
 
It is correct a 33 round clip is the max the factory offered. A clip is a pretty simple device so even building one from scratch isn't that hard....it may jam a lot though if you don't get the tolerances tight enough.

18 bullets when is quite a bit, assuming you are going to shoot a 3 round burst, that gives you equal capacity to a 6 round revolver.

Fully automatic weapons are usually never for accuracy, even long distance....you are usually trying to 'mow' something down, otherwise you pull out the trusty 20' rifle with 1000x zoom and become a one hit wonder 😉.

Now getting a Class 3 license is not impossible....however most will have to prove they want to become dealers in them or have some great need (I am sure there have been celebrities denied this license and not because they were felons 🙂 ).

The problem is even a cheap fully auto type weapon is going to be a few thousand and may not even work (a lot of military weapons are broken or very worn and would need a restoration to be more useful than a collectible). Other things many machine type weapons need are extra barrels and the like if you plan on starting a war 😉, these are also hard to come buy. However anyone with a little gun knowledge and a metal working shop could probably do a whole gun....the private gun workshop is where many of the world's weapons were concieved when the potato bazooka got boring 😉 or that damn bear / fox kept coming back.
 
Glocks are notorious for easily being turned into full auto. The sear pin that keeps the receiver held back after each shot is very easy to bypass. There is a tiny piece of metal that you can make yourself that prevents the sear pin from engaging, thus, after you pull the trigger the first time, it keeps firing until the entire clip is empty. Most gun shows have a few guys that only sell books... you know... those cheapy made paper backs? Well, there is always one referring to full auto conversion.

Doing this to any gun is a felony though. If you ever use a weapon that you did this to I gaurantee they would throw the book at you. I doubt it is really that simple anyway. I own a Glock 17 and I've never heard of Glocks being notorious for easily being turned into full auto. Sounds like one of those urban legends if you ask me.

Making a hi-cap magazine would be quite illegal, at least until the sunset next September.
 
it's illegal to pirate software and mp3's too, but that doesn't mean it's not happening everyday.

The hi-capacity magazine I was talking about would be for the class 3 licensed weapon....even then depending on law it would be illegal possibly.

The easiest way to get around that is buy an old magazine....they are grandfathered....

Yeah, I didn't realize they were quite that expensive. 😱 I might have to wait until my mid-40's to get one at that price! 🙁

Let me guess you talk about how it's anti-sway bar rather than a sway bar too? 😉

About 90% of even gun users misuse the words clip and magazine except for the elitest types.

Same way you aren't really loading just bullets into your firearm...without the casing, primer, powder...the bullet isn't really going to do anything buy itself...
