I hate these threads, but can't resist posting this:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/en...o-actually-were-cooling-claim-scientists.html

Global warming? No, actually we're cooling, claim scientists

There has been a 60 per cent increase in the amount of ocean covered with ice compared to this time last year, they equivalent of almost a million square miles.

In a rebound from 2012's record low an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia's northern shores, days before the annual re-freeze is even set to begin.

The Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific has remained blocked by pack-ice all year, forcing some ships to change their routes.

A leaked report to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) seen by the Mail on Sunday, has led some scientists to claim that the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century.

Despite the original forecasts, major climate research centres now accept that there has been a “pause” in global warming since 1997.

The changing predictions have led to the UN's climate change's body holding a crisis meeting, and the the IPCC is due to report on the situation in October. A pre-summit meeting will be held later this month.

Another reason why you can't trust Al Gore.

Not that I think there is anyway to measure with enough precision to make a safe conclusion either way, but if I had to guess I'd guess that the earth was getting cooler.

This "cooling" is based off of one new sheet forming before its predicted yearly formation. It is a regional formation, this says nothing to global temperature. The global warming trend is based off the last 200 years, not one season.

During a global temperature change some areas of the world will cool and some will warm, but the net affect has been shown to be increasing.

No, its called global climate change

THIS JUST IN:
Earth has dynamic weather.

Later tonight we will hear a grim story of a man who thought he was on the bottom step, stepped off and fell. He says a force called "gravity" is to blame.

More on that story at 11.

Ahh yes, it's that time of year again when the die hard deniers come out of hibernation to cherry pick data in order to draw incorrect conclusions they will shout to the world. As quickly as they arrive, they go away again. Until the next cycle anyway.

One year is not a recovery in Arctic Sea Ice.

We had the least amount of Arctic Sea Ice ever recorded last year, and just like the previous record in 2007 the following year sees a rebound. Hold your celebrations until a multi-year trend forms.

It took 5 years for 2012 to beat the 2007 record of low Arctic Sea Ice. If we surpass another 5 years and do not beat 2012 then you may have something to work with. Moreover, we've yet to see an Arctic Ice extent as solid as before 2007. If you don't get back to 2006 or earlier then there's nothing to gloat about.

If the story is bogus why is the UN panel having emergency meetings or is that bogus too?

Fern

It's bogus.

Yes - I told David Rose on the phone and by email on Thursday about the IPCC process and lack of 'crisis' meeting.

Ahh yes, it's that time of day when the die hard believers yet again worship at the altar of global warming climate change.

Do you guys face Al Gore's house during your multiple prayers per day?

I hate when people use the word "belief" when referring to facts presented by scientific investigation. I also don't "believe" in gravity or "believe" in the concept of molecular structure. I know the facts involved which have been gathered by the scientific process. Being aware of climate change issues doesn't make me a "believer" of anything. It just means I have an education and an ability to understand the difference between facts and bullshit.

You embrace the facts that fit your agenda and discount those that do not. You're a cultist, but have been brainwashed to believe that you're not.

This has all been discussed here endlessly. When presented with facts of scientific investigation that discount the facts you believe in, you dismiss them. Regardless, whether it exists or not is immaterial. No "solution" has ever been presented. No course of action, no timeline, no cost breakdown - nothing. Ever.

So worry, worry, worry. Give Al a yearly, monthly, weekly contribution if you wish but quit trying to stick your hand in my pocket in the name of your religious beliefs. I'm still free to worship as I please.

I love how when things are warm or stormy, it's all "See, global warming! Climate change! We told you!" and then when things are normal or cold, it's all "Well, climate science is kind of hard for anyone to understand...it's not exact and we don't really know for sure."

So when things are trending favorably for the political hacks, the science is solid. But when reality starts to counter their claims, the science isn't quite so sure.

We saw the same shit in the other thread about storms.

Just further proof of how much bullshit everything is.

And I hate when the leaked e-mails, from the lead scientists on global warming that outline how they can and are going to manipulate the numbers so as to increase their research funds, are just ignored by those who call the reports "Factual".

Fern, man, your posts just keep getting worse. Posting chain emails or some bullshit from WND perhaps?

And has Obama presented his long-form birth certificate yet or what?
