Global Warming, Go Away! (Heat wave in NE this week)

Last time air quality was really bad around here I was thinking how nice it would be to have some serious air-filters and maybe a supplemental oxygen line into my apartment. (pretty soon we'll be needing life-support!)

😳
Ah, indeed, yesterday in a reverie I contemplated the idea of installing some kind of air filtration system in this house. I don't know the ins and outs. I figure outside bad air certainly must be finding its way inside. I've taken up wearing N95's again for my daily skates on the streets. I stopped doing that after vaxxed, but wildfires have me donning 3M's, the kind with a flap valve in front because it's aerobic activity and anti-contagion isn't the idea, just cleaning the air I breath of PM 2.5 pollution.

"Global warming, go away!"

Indeed, it is Sunday morning. Might hear this from some pulpits. A lot of good it will do... Well, maybe it will inspire some changes?

Nope. Prayer obviates any kind of personal responsibility. You just pray hard enough, and all your dreams come true via magic. Or not... "god" is all kinds of mysterious and shit, but whatever happens, it's for the best I'm sure.
Prayer that obviates any need to act responsibly wrt things within our control is not really prayer. It's just a wish.
Prayer to help us act responsibly, or with prudence, or wisdom, wrt to things within our ordinary sphere of influence is valid prayer.

Nonetheless, there are prayers that Christians engage in that are more important than global matters over which they have little to no control.

Oh, and not every Christian is an idiot. And, even Christians that are idiots, or simply ignorant, still matter to God. He is not infected with our pride and arrogance.

Yesterday and today were pretty warm. It cooled in the evening but remained overly warm in my upstairs bedroom (Berkeley, CA). Normally after dark I would have turned on the pair of 200mm computer fans I have installed in my raised bedroom window using a switch on my bed stand but I didn't because of the wildfire smoke coming from Tahoe and other fires. AQI was high enough where I figured it wasn't smart to draw that air into the house.
My sister & brother-in-law bugged out of Tahoe a couple of days ago because the smoke was so bad 🙁

It's been pretty hot here in PA all week. Supposed to get cooler & less humid in a few days. Mid to lower 70sF instead of mid to upper 80sF

I dig what you're saying. I'll quote my fave quotable, William Blake: "Prayers plow not, praises reap not."
