It could be CPU or GPU. Does it mean we can see 28nm tech sooner than expected?

but, and this is a big but - if ATi/AMD was preparing for this, couldn't they have their new arch due later this year on this new node? or more practically i suppose, the rehash of the current cards on this new tech in preparation for Fermi?
New arc AND new node together?![]()

If AMD/ATI had the fab advantage in the near future it would completely changed the GPU landscape.Ya I can see nv looking at this and going OH! NO.
I'm betting it will be years before we see GF making GPUs, if ever.
I thought nVidia wasn't going to deal with GF. I think I read that somewhere in this section before.
Isn't Sandy Bridge going to be 28nm?
NV says what is most advantageous for it to say at the time, knowing that with the exception of a small subset of its customers no one will remember anything that their spokes-people say or do 6 months out.
NV is making its cards with TSMC? NV will say nice things about TSMC while crapping on the competition. Things change and suddenly GF is AMD free then NV will start low level talks and shout "We're utilizing cutting edge 28nm tech from one of the premier Fab companies in the biz!"
And you know what? Good for them!
