glenn beck is really annoying

Indeed. Tell us from whence comes your absolute and infallible power to discern what everyone must think or feel. I've never encountered one who is omniscient before. I have to work hard and consider many things before I arrive at what I think may be called "the truth". Worse I'm so bad at understanding all mysteries that I may from time to time reassess things. It must be wonderful to know all things without trying. It seems that you and mr. Beck have this in common.

What people Think/Feel is immaterial. People also used to think Segregation was perfectly Fine and even Beneficial.

I remember, the lack of traffic was great. I'd happily pay more for a house for experienced and unionized builders. I'd save for it in lower taxes no longer needed to pay for their services.

What? Beck didn't offend me, I don't think he should relocate, nor did I call him insensitive and I actually said I don't think he's celebrating a over the civil rights movement/MLK. My only comment was about what he said. Way to fly off the handle about something I didn't even say.

I thought I made great strides toward knowing everything the day I realized I didn't know anything at all.

So how do you know what everyone there believes? Do they think that Segregation is perfectly fine?

BTW, this is why Beck is annoying. He believes he speaks for everything and what is right. Again you seem to share the same insight. Don't you know that everyone who is a teabagger is racist? That all blacks are ignorant criminals? That all Jews are thieves? All Muslims terrorists? All Liberals are Communists? All Conservatives want poverty?

It's amazing how much people "know" about others.

You make the same mistake he does. The facts are that if people took time to hear what others as individuals believe in reality then there might be grounds for mutual benefit and understanding. That's what MLK wanted. It appears many do not. Now you may go back to demonizing everyone you choose.

I have learned a great deal over my lifetime, enough to realize I know almost nothing.

It is the empty vessel which may receive, but never the "full".

I'm not accusing the GB Rally goers of anything. All I'm saying is that those who "Believe" that it's a "Victory Mosque" or some other nonsense are simply wrong. It doesn't matter what they "Believe" it is. If we make decisions on what some People "Believe", we'd all have horse drawn carriages and wear funny hats.

This must be my problem; I'm so eager to share my immense store of knowledge that almost everyone I meet acknowledges that I am "full".

Beck knows his audience, knows which buttons to push and which erroneous zones to stroke, what it takes to invoke drooling or howling from seemingly intellligent mow-rons who've been conditioned to do so their whole lives.

Like all Rightwing Ideologues, he creates a fantasy image of the past, one his listeners desperately want to believe in, one that meshes with their own denial. They fear introspection and self evaluation more than even an uncertain future, and he helps them maintain their crippled belief system and self image.

That's rather circular, isn't it? People are wrong because you say they are, but you cannot say why it's so except that they are wrong because you think they are. This isn't a matter of opinion. It's some Cosmic thing you know, because beliefs don't matter to you, only reality. Reality that you apparently believe in and apparently you define by some vague means, but can't say how that's so.

You see there is a number of things Beck says that I disagree with, but I realize that some people buy what he says. By taking the superior attitude you have you've decided they don't count. That's not reality because oddly enough people you disagree with have reasons besides the two cent analysis of their character based on a complete lack of personal interaction. Therefore you fail in understanding the dynamic between Beck and his supporters and cannot hold a dialogue with them and have any persuasive effect.

This was an exercise by me to try to bring you out of your ideological corner. While I picked on you, I took the time to do so because you aren't an idiot. With others I wouldn't waste a moment.

I also realize you probably don't care a bit, and you aren't obliged to. In fact you shouldn't.

Sandorski's not an idiot, but I think his post in the changed beliefs thread was quite illuminating. It appears that he was raised as an evangelical Christian. At some point he broke with their beliefs. The sad part is that he failed to break with their type of reasoning, which is based on faith and black-and-white thinking. This manifests itself in a complete acceptance of traditional left-wing ideology in the place of evangelical ideology. Interesting.
