hi , i have a L center desk its glass on top and rest is just metal i dont think it can take the weight of a 65 pound monitor plus the tower? what should i do should i buy a new desk? i want a desk good for gaming sumthing sturdy i am scared if i was to put my new computer on top it would snap and my new comp would fall to the ground its already kinda bending with a 17in monitor on it if i push on it i see it bend should i make my own? i need it to hold.

LOL...if the weight don't break it your gaming prolly will 😛
Seriously I wouldn't risk it and would suggest 1 nice Formica type kitchen table as they give plenty of leg room...got 2-21inchers on mines 😉

i'd rather build another computer for $400

after seeing how much my tables going for I may have to sell it 😛

BentValve...how much weight can your table hold? and does it have a smooth top for the mouse?

Oh and strong!...you will not break this desk no matter how hard you game. 😀

Plasic has come a long ways, forget those heavy particle board folding tables , these plastic ones are the future.

Stainproof, unbreakable, lighweight, easy to clean, decent looking.

The top does have a little texture, but overall its smooth. My MX510 works on it but I prefer pads still.

Hehe..I want/need@ least a 4X8 😛...Thanks I'm going to check em out for weight...Got's lots of stuff to put on and want to expand 😉

Not quite 4x8, but my Jerker from Ikea fits my needs to a T. I think after adding lights and extra shelves it was $180. The base config is around $120, I believe.

Oh, and I've since mounted the large surface backwards. The cutout served no purpose for me except cut into my work area (no pun intended).

Dudes...

I have the 4 foot Lifetime table - it's definitely not for computer gaming. I had to set up a computer station and so I thought why not buy two of folding tables (from Costco). Well the tower is on the carpet floor while the heavy 17 inch CRT lies on top of the table - you could actually see a little bent like a U shape due to the heaviness of the monitor.

It's not for computer use... because the height is too high unlike a normal computer desk. Unless you buy those with height adjustable... or unless you're tall.

If you play computer games - I wouldn't recommend it since the table shakes when you're playing intense gaming. One time I was shooting bastards online pressing the keyboard simultaneously and one of the table's leg went down. I'm not sure if the table shakes on hard floors but because of the cushiness of the carpet. This happened 2 weeks after I bought the table - it's not a defect - it's just not meant for a sub-computer desk.

I'd still go for something that's stable and hard like a wooden desk. That's just my opinion.

I just called office max to see the weight restriction he says you can hold about 500pounds on it.

I play all the latest games on my Lifetime table and have no problems with shaking or stability, if your shaking the much then perhaps you probably suck anyways because there is really no need for alot of physical effort for computer gaming, not even the most demanding FPS's life Unreal Tournament.

Folded in a leg? Table bowed with placement of a 17" monitor on it? Bullshit, your either lying or you dont have the same table being discussed here.

the thing that folds the table back togather does that hit your feet alot or not really seems like it might annoy maybe not?
