I'll be in Glasgow for the upcoming 3 day weekend & London for the weekend after. Any tips on what to do, where to eat, where to drink, where to shop, etc.?

I've got a 1-day tour planned Sunday (in Glasgow) that tours around Glencoe area & stopping by the Oban distillery. Also planning on swinging by the Auchentoshan & Glengoyne distilleries on Sat or Mon. I really wanted to do this Speyside festival going on this weekend, but just won't work out... 🙁

Glasgow seems like a pretty progressive city, but I'm not really into art or museums. I've been touring around Scotland for the past few days, so I've pretty much done all the scenic / outdoor / castle stuff. So I guess I'm not sure what I'm looking for...

For London, I've got nothing planned... someone recommended the double decker tour bus and just hop off / on when something sounds interesting...

It will be my first time to both London & Glasgow.

Also - if anyone is down for a meetup, I'd be game. I'll actually be on Gla/Lon for the entire 2 weeks, but working on weekdays. Might be free in the evenings, but all depends on how the project goes.

Thanks in advance

You said shopping? Do you realize how expensive London is? hehe

Anyways, if I was to go to England I would make sure to do the following:
- Visit middle age castles
- Watch a Football game (premier league preferably)

But that's just me. : D

thanks for the reply.

Yeah - I was hoping to get some shopping done in Glasgow or online if it's a bit cheaper. All i really need are work shirts & slacks.

I've seen about 5 castle's already - even discovered one which my ancestors lived in for a few hundred years... very cool stuff.

I thought about football, but I'm not really into watching sports & since I'm on my own, don't feel very safe...

a good general london guide... http://www.reddit.com/r/london/wiki/index

check londonist or timeout for a good guide of events for when you're there.

if you're near euston there is a byob indian called Diwana Bhel Poori House, great food and its very cheap. ooor tripadvisor is usually good, if theres something specific you want to eat in an area
