OpenOffice is dead atm. LibreOffice has fast, and active development.

Remove unnecessary rubbish, stop programs from automatically starting on boot unless they're absolutely necessary, remove any unnecessary software, pick a reasonably efficient anti-virus program, and stop installing unnecessary crap on your computer.

Problem solved!

Don't use any software that claims to speed up your computer. They're either trying to con you out of your money or it's free snake oil.

That is my thought, and probably why I haven't heard of it. I never use this crap, hence why I asked.

Glary Utilities is like CCleaner it does seem to find more stuff however,I would also avoid using it on Win8.1 as it's not compatible at the moment with that OS,it's fine on Win7.

there was a thread on Glarys a while back.

Glarys is a set of utilities used for system maintenance. It doesn't promise to "speed up your PC". Its not spyware or malware.

Think of it as a glorified Norton Utilities or the old Helix Nuts & Bolts.

I use Glary and like it a lot. It is not snake oil. The net effect of employing some or all of its many options is to, U bet, speed up yr drive!
I use CCleaner every day, Glary perhaps 3X a week.

You can use both apps to configure yr start menu, scheduled tasks, the usual.

Few weeks ago here, a guy posted his built by HIM rig, and a lovely one... was increasingly slowwwwwwwwww, forget, his boot time was over 2 minutes

Most people offered responses with the premise there was something mechanical wrong with the drive (yes, a platter drive), suggested he should move up to an SSD.

I felt right off, issue simply was this drive was cluttered up with junk of all kinds, also needed defragging, etc. One of many utilities I linked him to was Glary. That is the one he got and ran every option within.....and bingo, his drive was renewed, his boot time down to something like 25 seconds.

Again, it was horses....not zebra.:sneaky:

So, I say, by all means, go there.
