I just bought this game. I usually don't buy new games, because $50 is quite a lot, especially with Christmas coming up, but I just HAD to get an RPG to play with my friends.
If you like RPG's, this game is awesome. It is turn based like FFT, but the gameplay actually moves quite fast, and the game is awesome. There is a lot of bredth in the weapons and characters, as well. The game is easy to get used to, but it can be quite hard.
I haven't been playing for a long time, but considering how much I played FFT, I'm definitely expecting to get my $50 worth out of this game. If you have the money and want to play this game (get some friends -- it's 4 player), you won't be dissapointed!
