Well, last week was one of the most stressful i've experienced for a long time. Here's a few basic details so you know the context.

Put an offer in on a 2 bed house last July, this fell through in September as they couldn't sell the property due to a legal dispute they were in. Found another house in the same road with 3 bedrooms (1 a loft conversion) and had an offer accepted on that. In the meantime my wife and I sold our flat and moved in with her parents for a couple of weeks while we waited for the house owners to find somewhere to move to.

All good so far? My wife is pregnant all through this (baby is due on 11th May) so by the time January comes around we're starting to get a little bit anxious about moving in to our new house with enough time to renovate and redecorate. I then find out from our surveyor that our potential house and the biggest purchase of my life to date (£190,000) has major structural problems caused by a shoddy loft conversion.

Being unable to find a compromise with the sellers of this place, we then start the house-hunting process for a 3rd time. Thankfully we found somewhere vacant pretty quickly and this side of things has been progressing pretty well.

Now that the background is out of the way, here's what happened last week. On Tuesday morning I got up to go to Work and found my car's driver-side window smashed in and glass all over the place. The contents of the car had been ransacked although nothing of any value was taken.

Next day, the glass is replaced and I spend the afternoon cleaning out the glass from inside and giving the car some TLC.

On Thursday, my wife complains about some stomach pains so we go straight to the hospital for a scan and check-up. She's apparently having minor contractions and after the examination they send us home. Later that night, she notices some blood so we rush up to hospital again. They admit her straight away and hook her up to all kinds of monitoring stuff and over the next couple of days things stabilise and she's given the all-clear. Doctor's aren't sure what caused the bleeding and think the contractions are just a rare, if not uncommon occurence and shouldn't be anything to worry about. Main thing is that my lovely wife and the baby are doing fine and now taking it easy.

Back to today, and i've just spoken with my solicitors about our house purchase - we should be moving in on March 31st. Felt such a sense of relief at having something definite and it feels like a huge weight which was on our shoulders has now been lifted.

Thanks for reading! :thumbsup::cookie::beer:

CLIFFS:

1) House purchases screw up earlier in the year
2) House no 3 seems to be going ok
3) Car gets broken into and messed up
4) Wife who is pregnant goes into hospital with pains and minor bleeding
5) Spend 2 days wandering around the hospital while she's monitored and checked
6) Her and the baby are OK!!!!!!!!!!!
7) House purchase confirmed this morning!

I feel so much better having written all that down!

All else pales in comparison to the health of your wife and baby. Glad they are both okay. Here's to a better week! :beer:
