hello everyone, well i just got that antivirus xp 2008 garbage and seem to of fixed it with malwarebytes alright. i did a huge cleaning after getting it though and i noticed that i have a process running called gjqpmnyr.exe and i have no idea what it is. google turns up nothing. it is in the c:/program data folder on my HDD and when i double clicked it the only thing that happened is that it changed from gjqpmnyr.exe to gjqpmnyr.exe.bak. the process is still running however.

any ideas?

thanks in advance.

I could not find anything even close, I would try and kill it using process explorer or similar and see if any thing you need breaks, but an unknown .exe is often a sign that an infection still exists. Without more details of how you cleaned things out that is the best I can come up with. You could upload it here jotti and have it checked by all the scan engines and see what turns up. let me know what you find.

I would try opening it in a hex editor and look for any human readable strings that might give a clue. I would also probably delete it and see if anything stops working.
