Well guys and goils, given the choice, do you save a couple of shekels by making the the fat, rich, bulk buyers(chainstores)richer, or do you pay a little more, and go to a local business, run by the people, for the people. Even though the small business costs you more, because not having the ability to buy a couple thousand pallets of whatever it is you want, they have to structure prices accordingly.
Is the world going down the chainstore toilet, and does it bother you that to a chainstore, there is no "Mate's Rates", no credit given to friends of the business owner, and certainly no care about the workers ensconsed therein?
My vote goes to the local businessman, every time....Chainstores
have no SOUL, and should all be burnt!!
What say you all?

Store? You mean a place that has a building that you have to drive to, then get out of the car and walk in, and then transport your merchandize back home? I've heard of those. What is it like?

You usually get much better service at the local store. I try to go local when its possible but I do shop the chainstores quite often.

Most of the time, local stores have much better customer service but chain stores generally have prices that local stores can't compete with. Plus, in Atlanta we have about 4 local stores in the whole city.

Internet if possible. Otherwise I try to go with a local store instead of a big chain. Down with the evil Wal-Mart empire!!! :D

you may want to stop for a second to think about exactly why the local stores started dying out in the first place...Easy, they could not compete..

When I'm shopping I'm not shopping to make friends. I'm just looking for the best price. I would rather goto the local store but too many times the prices are too high. I just wanna get more for my money.

I would try and frequent local business more often but often or not, they just don't have the selection I want. So unfortuantely, I'm a slave to corporate interests....boo!

Ahh, but through my local store owning friends, I get the better prices, I get credit when I want it, AND I get the superior, cared-for feeling...
