Giveaway shows: do you prefer an uplifting conclusion, or an epic fail?

I don't watch TV this often, but the wife loves "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition" and stuff like "Deal or no deal." To me, the touchy-feely "we just built you with an indoor bowling alley and paid off your mortgage!" shows get repetitive really fast. To me, there's nothing like seeing someone crash and burn - Deal or No Deal is a great example. To see someone pass up a guaranteed $400,000 payout and walk out with $5 instead, now that's entertainment
