Looks nice.

I probably would have done the harddrives and optical drives differently, but that's going to be a nice system.

Uh, my opinion is this- it should be very fast, you lucky dog. A gift?

EDIT: Raid 0 gives me the fear.

is the RAID 0 not going to be reliable? I intend on putting hd coolers on both of em and venting them both to the exterior of the case

Well, it is as reliable as the HDs are.

The problem is, because you are running 2HDs to share the same data, if one dies, you'll lose everything, even if the other is okay. So you are doubling your chances of something bad happening.

Keeping them cool should help.

Backup often is my main advice to you. I'm serious... consider an external HD for this purpose.

And "not waiting for the latest" is impossible. You'll always wait for the latest if you do that. Gotta make the plunge at some point.

And that computer will give you more than enough to do most anything.

Thanks. As of this moment, I intend on running Black and White 2, Call of Duty 2, F.E.A.R., CS Source, DOD Source, and other new games on it. I also will use it for video encoding, protein folding, and standard office apps.

That and benching against my friend's new Quad G5 with a 7800GT and watching him mutilate me in research and creative/productivity apps while I run circles around him in games!

If you guys make your own folding team, you'll be in the top 100 very quickly with those machines. Yipes.

I use an old P3 600 MHz to fold with. It takes a few days just to get through 1 unit...

I will give credit to Apple for having a real slick case organization in the G5. You pretty much see no wires anywhere!
