give notice or leave them dry?

so i'm working @ sears. now when i was hired @ sears they told me i'd get 25 hrs a week, it's been like 11 hrs a week those b1tches have given me. i've b1tched and finally they gave me 19 hrs THIS WEEK. i was averaging 9-11 hours the previous 4 weeks.

however i just got hired @ home depot with 30 hrs a week and 4 bucks more an hour. they want me to start asap. should i give sears a weeks notice or just fvck them and call in and quit? technically i can work this week since im scheduled for the night shift so doing both jobs wouldn't be an issue.

i'm leaning more towards just fvcking quitting, they are short on staff already and since i'm the closer, it would royally fvck them over since the schedules already came out for this week rofl. and yes i bought a sh1tload of stuff yesterday to take advantage of my discount before i quit today. if i do actually go in, i don't think i'd do any work and just push everything to the limit, what are they gonna do fire me?

Hmmmmm... not a good way to do things IMHO, but whatever works for you. If you get screwed over at Home Depot, it may not be good to just quit.

oops forgot to mention this is just a part time job for me for extra cash and discounts, also i've only been there a month so i wouldn't list them anyways on any resumes. i wouldn't need any references from them.
points taken if this was my only job, yes i would do the right thing and give notice

Why not give notice? Chances are the person who will get screwed by having to cover for you on no notice didn't have anything to do with you not getting 25 hours a week.

ahhhhh i guess you guys are right, i will give them a weeks notice and pull double duty for this week. it's impossible for me to give them 2 tho, since i'll be off of training by this weekend and will have regular work hours for next week. can always count on the AT "do the right thing" cops 😉

Working two jobs this week = more $$$ and you said the only reasons for the part time employment was for extra cash and employee discounts, so it works out for you.

no, you don't need to give notice on this one, in fact, since you probably wont need them as a reference in the future and that you got a job with home depot already.

you're working retail, so it doesn't matter that much.

Stay with the two jobs in case you don't like things at home depot.

If things work out there and they want to give you the hours, just call your manager at Sears and tell them you'll work the rest of your scheduled shifts, but then you're done.

Who cares about a two weeks notice at a Sears... especially when you've worked there for 4-5 weeks (at least that's what I gather) Who the hell wants to put that on a resume??? That'd be more work to explain than it would be a benefit.

If you were promised 25 hours/week at Sears and aren't getting it, then it's obvious they don't need you to begin with. Screw them. They didn't hold their end, there is no reason you have to be professional with them. They have wasted YOUR valuable time.

what was the employee discount btw? I wouldn't mind working there if I wasn't already employed by kmart...not sure if i'm able to work both.

not that great, it's 20% on clothes, shoes and jewelry
and 10% off everything else (ie the important stuff - tools, appliances, electronics, bbq, lawnmowers etc..)
