So I've come down with some sort of sickness, lets call it Wildcat Flu, and it has given me an extremely sore throat and a feeling of overall malaise. :(

I've cancelled my plans for tonight and am thinking of just lumping around the house with the blinds closed; watching movies, reading, and playing games.

Now I am trying to decide on what I should pick up in order to give myself some comfort throughout the night tonight. Soup? Whiskey? Neo Citron? Sleeping pills? What do you guys use?

No hookers because I'm sick enough as it is and I already have enough blow lying around to clear up the old sinuses.

    Thanks!

    KT

hot tea with honey always helps me.

I've heard gargling with warm salted water helps but every time I've tried it it nearly makes me puke, which ends up making things worse.

Hmm, yum. I'll need to find some whiskey; I have all of the other ingredients.

Ahh right, forgot about this. Going to do that right now.

    Do this regularly.

    Cough drop/other candy.

    OTC pain relievers.

    Humidifier running.

Nyquil or the like if you have trouble going to sleep.

Nasal decongestant often helps me, 'cause it's often mucous dripping down into my throat that causes the soreness. Dry up the snot helps avoid the pain.

Whiskey is clearly the only option you have at this point

Whiskey is on my list now. Any recommendations? I've never purchased whiskey before. :hmm:

No need to get fancy. Jack Daniel's Black Label or Maker's Mark are both reliably good.

Usually soup, tea, Hall's drops, and Dayquil/Nyquil do the trick for me. Had it on Monday.

Tea during the day and whiskey at night is what I did on Tuesday when I got that crap. All my coworkers on Wednesday told me I should have stayed home again so apparently I didn't look great on day 2.

Knob Creek. My wife's prescription doesn't allow her to take any cold medicines so she swears by Knob Creek.

Nothing prohibits me from taking cold medicine, but I also use Knob Creek instead.

When you're all better pick up some Basil Hayden to celebrate.

1/2 tumbler of warm orange juice.
    Fill remaining with Bourbon.

    Rinse, repeat.

    Alcohol is never the answer.

Wait, in this case it is.
