Assumably you mean 802.11g wireless router. Opinions vary as widely as there are choices. As long as you stick with the major players you'll be fine. They are pretty much the same at that consumer level. Performance, dependability, and unfortunately bugs as well. Price you pay for paying such a low price for this hardware. Linksys, DLink, Netgear, etc.... Take your pick. Should be fine for you.

Stick with one brand like ktwebb says, dont mix, unless u are good with computers, but if ur not a computer guy take one brand it will help in the long run if u need to call Tech support.

- trust i work for one of these router companies, PT of course (in school) , and ppl with a mix combo always have the most trouble. But not all ppl.

Get the Linksys - WRT54G

Well its not really a big deal if you mix brands, but for someone like my mom, who doesn't know jack squat about computer other than email and online banking, stick with a big name brand such as netgear or linksys.

It might be ?Not a Big Deal?.

Functionally, when I am Not trying to stretch the limit and save a lot of money I do not care to mix the Brand

But de-facto most of the Entry Level Wireless Hardware is Not WIFI, and thus do not guarantee full compatibly.

Brands are using variety of chipsets that have special settings (even the same model within one Brand might have three or four groups chipsets). As a result you have better chance to get stable Wireless system if you use the same Brand ?Plastic Boxes? (also the color matches better).
