I want the snowball effect where spammers sell/share the email address with other spammers and add it to the email list for their botnets.

How about just putting up a solitary webpage with your desired email address written thereon and link to it from your sig in various forums?
Scrapers will be along shortly to harvest your juicy address.

It used to be all I had to do what register for a Hotmail account. Was never short on spam with any of those. Have they gotten better?

If you have a website put the email right on it as a mailto link. (probably don't even need the mailto as they'll just scrape anything that looks like an email, but it's probably best to put it)

You could google for stuff like "free subscription" or something. I find anything with the keyword "free" is usually going to yield lot of questionable stuff. Especially porn or warez related keywords. It's always fun to do that in a VM and just click on all the results to see how much crap gets loaded in the system by simply loading the pages. You end up with like 20 tool bars too.
