give me advice. laptop or not?

i'm a art student, majoring in graphic design, and i currently have a pc at home and i love it. but being a art major, in the design world everybody uses macs. mid last year i started looking at the one of apple power book g4 laptops. i thought maybe by the end of this year '04 maybe a g5 would come out, but from reading some web sites and stuff, it doens't seem like it will soon, but no one knows when. so maybe someone, anyone knows when they might come out? i don't wanna get a laptop that will be obsolite(sp) in like a few months. so that leads to my final answer.

should i wait?
 
No matter when you buy a laptop or pc, it will be obselete within a few months, so you need to ask yourself if you really need one now or not.
 
Don't hold your breath on the G5 laptop. The heatsink for the G5 in the desktop is just SO massive that it leads me to believe the chip is much too hot for a laptop with current designs.

yeah a dual G4 design might be more likely than a single G5 solution
