Ok ive always played console based RPG's like final fantasy and whatnot.

What games are on the pc that are anything like this.

I also enjoyed Diablo.

I tried WOW but it started taking up too much of my life lol.
Id rather play something that doesnt charge monthly if thats possible.

How great the graphics are isnt a big issue because i dont mind playing older games like shining force for sega and chrono trigger. But im still looking for a newer PC game

Im considering fable and Oblivion but what other good RPG based games are there?

It depends on how much "freedom" you want in terms of storyline and character development. Oblivion will definitely give you a lot of freedom. Games like KOTOR and others like NWN are pretty strict when it comes to allowing you do what you want. That doesn't make them bad RPGs. They are just different. Considering the games you have mentioned, I would lean more towards the games which are not so strict.

I just started up Titan Quest + expansion again. It's a click-fest RPG, almost exactly like Diablo 2 but in a different setting and newer... so it looks better. I'm pretty sure it's relatively cheap too so I 100% suggest it.

It's not an MMO at all. It's closer to a dungeon crawler RPG.

KOTOR was great, definitely worth picking up.

Mass Effect is a lot like it, and it'll be available for PC in a couple months. Fallout 3 will come out a few months after that (knock on wood).

It includes a single player and multiplayer component. The multiplayer is decentralized and player made "persistent worlds" provide an online RPG experience.

Whatever you do, do not play the base campaign (the OC) of NeverWinter Nights 1, it may turn you off for the entire series. The expansion packs (Shadows of UnderTide Chapter 1 and Hordes of the UnderDark chapters 2 and 3 are fun though). Be sure to checkout the many free player made modules (single player and multiplayer flavors). Some of the player made modules like the Tales of Arterra Series and Hex Coda 01 are better than many commercial RPGs that I have bought / played.

NWN 1 and NWN2 do not charge monthly subscription fees, but you do have to buy them.
The Diamond version of NWN1 includes both expansion packs and three of the premium (nonfree) modules.

Baldur's Gate and then Baldur's Gate 2. For something in first person/3rd person try Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.

I've been playing Gothic 3 lately... it's pretty fun, but buggy. I also really, really liked Titan Quest. Seeing as you liked Diablo 2 you'll like Titan Quest most likely.
