Ease of use (plug into wall, plug into TV)
GTA3
FFX
GT3
MGS2
NCAA 2002 Football
March Madness 2002 (Jan.)
State of Emergency (Jan.)
Nice controllers

EDIT: if you pirate PC games, you could pirate PS2 games making it relatively cheap...

Crash Bandicoot 1
Crash Bandicoot 2
Crash Bandicoot 3
Crash Bash (Crash 4)
Crash Bandicoot 5

And for some bonus reasons, GTA3 and the fact that the PSII can play any PSI games, which can be had pretty inexpensively now.

But are Playstation II games as interactive as PC games? I mean, Playstation does not have the concept of a mouse, right?

I believe you can buy virtually anything for it.. i know you can buy a USB keyboard for it too.

Also, i like the fact that the old PS controllers work with it, and the new ones aren't even any different. (dual shock)

older PS games will also play in the PS2, not to mention DVD's with the aid of a nifty little DVD remote which I have too.. :D

Im thinking of buying a set this Xmas...

One more thing, can it be plugged in a normal PC monitor, or does it work only with a TV?

1. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
2. Final Fantasy ('nough said)
3. DVD player Movie
4. Large support of games (PS1 Backward compatibility)
5. Lots of third party developers

But I'd still get the XBOX because the hardware is better, it has a hard drive, ethernet adaptor and its coming out with a different version of Metal Gear Solid. I also believe they are trying to get Squaresoft on board. Only negative is the lack of games at the moment, and the awkwardly huge controller, but I hear they are coming out with a smaller controller.

Unlike the DreamCast, the PS2 does not have VGA support. There are a couple devices that are available that will convert the signal to a VGA signal, but it's really just doubling the lines or something along those lines. Not a true VGA 640x480 resolution.

The new controllers are slightly different. All the buttons are analog, which sense how hard you are pressing them. Not that big of deal, though, as you normally don't notice this. But, if you pull out Madden, for example, and do a replay, you can see the analog buttons in action. The harder you press, the faster the playback. Lightly hold it, frame by frame. Harder you press, the faster the playback.

Rule#1 dont base your console purchase on the power of the hardware.See Jaguar,3do,n64.....
it has always been and always will be about the games.
