I want to buy my girlfriend something really nice for our 6 Month anniversary, but I don't know if I want to get the normal jewelry and flowers and stuff. Any girls have any suggestion on what their dream present would be for an anniversary? Thanks a lot

First of all, it's not an anniversary. The word anniversay comes from the word annual, which means yearly.

Secondly, I don't know :)

that was a tremendous help, thankyou. I'll just tell her that there's no such thing as 6 month anniversaries. Therefore, she gets nothing

Hmm... what's the budget? I've always wanted to do a serenade to a girl I'm smitten with. That could be very nice (if you have a decent voice).

ehh, make it something from you, not something storebought....save the "formal" gifts for the "formal" anniversaries.

EDIT: hmm thats a lot of money. Get her a Yugo and send me the leftover $$.

Why don't you take her out for a nice (expensive) dinner and maybe a concert or dancing.

Ahh, gotta love the inept yet eager romantics here. :p

There's absolutely no need to spend $500 on a "6 month anniversary."
Buy her a few flowers (flowers are ALWAYS welcome to girls), and take her out to dinner. Then shag her silly.

Syringer, if you have ever been in a serious relationship you would know that for SOME girls, you must celebrate the "anniversary" for everything...1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, etc.....especially during the first year when it's all......well, good. :Q Afterwards its not like you celebrate an 18 month anniversary. This is just standard girl crap that costs us extra money.
Then again maybe you were just lucky and had a really down to earth type.

Anyway, just take her out some place nice and be extra romantic. If you're throwing in a gift in with all that, don't spend more than 20-30 bucks IMO.

$500? put down the drugs son. she might ditch your ass in a month (or you might grow bored of hers)

Best gift, plus you only need the money for condom... if she prefers no condom then it's definitely a plus :D

But on a serious note.. 500$?! If you give her a 500$ gift for a 6 month anniversery, she is going to expect more the next time... start off with something decent, under 100$ is reasonable.

Don't blow all that money for the 6th month mark. Believe it or not, 6 months isn't exactly a "long time". Just have a good night out and use only some of that money. Like previously mentioned, take her on a walk through the park or the beach, pay for a nice exquisite dinner and ballroom dancing.

How old are you guys, if you don't mind me asking?

Syringer: If he's dating a girl under 21, there are 12 (or more, depending on maturity leve) anniversaries in a year.

I agree, Heck I am at my 1 year(married not dating) and I would never spend that much cash on it, Just because you get her a high dollar gift will not make her love you more, why not get something nice like a necklace? no reason to spend 500 on it. and with the leftover cash you can get a 9700 llike I did :D

the $500 limit means anywhere UP to $500.... that means I can buy her a 50 cent card, or a diamond necklace. Doesn't mean I have to spend that much at all

there's something psycologically wrong with spending $400-600 dollars on a 6 month anniversary, imo. Be more conservative would be my suggestion and do the dinner and perhaps flower thing if you're set on something nice.

heheh, you have much to learn young skywalker.

set the bar LOW.... other wise you will have to spend even more 6 months down the road, and then there will be Christmas, and I am sure she has a birthday, and then valentines day, and then you 18 month anniversary,

you better not get her any thing unless you are rich.
