I wouldn't spend that much on a girlfriend bud. Buy her something crappy and see if she still likes you. Thats a good test to see if she is a keeper.

Well for one, does she prefer gold or silver colored (platinum, white gold) jewelry?

Edit:
My preference would be the diamond because I hate gold jewelry... But I don't know how small that diamond looks in real life.

How long have you been dating?

I am not a girl.

#2 is better value for money, imho.

If you are gonna get a diamond solitare, it needs to be more than .17 carat to look like anything. and the color is I, which will have a yellow tint to it. The pearl one looks more substantial and the diamond, while smaller, is better quality.

Plus #2 is less of a commitment piece.

Oh trust me this one's a keeper!:) We've been together for over 2 years. It's not like I just met the girl:p

I think she'd like both of them but I was leaning towards the pearl one myself.

I agree about the pearl one.

I like it better personally, and would prefer to receive it as a gift.... but also for the reasons stated above... it is more substantial. It is better quality.

Do you realize that African kids are mutilated and castrated by the tribes that mine the diamonds, so that they cannont grow up and take over the mining. Diamonds are about the most abused, and crooked industry ever. If your woman insists on diamonds give her pictures of small mutilated and castrated african kids instead. So get her the pearl, as I'm just sure someone is just underpaid for those. Either way the diamond industry is evil incarnate avoid them at all costs.

agreed, stay away from those things, after all they're just rocks. I agree with brunswickite, make her dinner. Anyone can plop out cash for something someone else made, but to do it yourself shows a lotta love:heart:

Ok... no offense... flowers die and dinner is over in a short amount of time.

Jewelry lasts forever.

The links to the pearls stranda are gorgeous and nicely priced... but a strand of pearls is limited in when they can be worn.

The first necklace that the OP has is nice, but the diamond is too small and the color too yellow.

The second necklace is perfect in size and quality. also, it can be worn with a formal dress or a casual sweater. It is nice and tasteful, yet understanded and classic.

And before anyone clams that jewelry is a bad thing and too expensive and shallow....

Girls like jewelry the same way guys like puter stuff, cars and stereos.

Neither! I wouldn't spend that kind of money on jewlery for anyone. Plus, jewlery is over rated.

i agree with .17 not being sustantial, need something like .5. The color "I" is ok, its still in the colorless range, however, this depends on how well the cut/clarity of the diamond is. If the diamond doesn't sparkle as a result of a bad cut/clarity polish/symetry, then the diamond is just a pretty looking clear rock.

might I suggest bluenile.com, unless you insist on getting it at tiffany's

hahaha!! close! but long after 2GHz is obsolete and the newest game is on the market... jewelry will be of equal value to when purchased.

Heh yea. Is she just expecting material wealth/ $$$ from you in exchange for sex like a prostitute?
