pap smears only test for one STD usually and it's sort of pertinant due to it can cause cancer there, much like our lubed finger test after 40.

Human papillomavirus, or HPV, is an umbrella name for dozens of viral strains that can cause warts on different parts of the body, as well as some forms of cancer. About 20 types of HPV can lead to genital and anal infections in both women and men. Because the glands in the anus are similar to those in a woman's cervix, HPV infection in either area can result in cancerous cell changes.

fortunately for the most part HPV plays a more heavy role for women as most guys can carry it and have no symptoms or problems due to it.
Why is she afraid of being tested for STD's though? She think you are cheating?

my b/f goes with me all the time when he is not working. he went when i got the IUD changed. and he asked the doc to teach him how to do a breast exam properly. Most men would shudder at the thought of this. But he just says that he loves me and wants to be there for whatever I go thru.
I slapped him and asked for his man card.

but he is a big (not fat, big) gruff type of guy.. totally blue collar. The type that takes no sh!t and works with guys who bark at each other instead of speak. Nice guys, but you know the type. He has dropped women in his past for 1/10th of what he has been thru with me... he is a toughie alright.
and it is weird to hear him with other ppl... then he has the softest, my loving manner for me. But that is supposed to be a secret.

interesting. a friend of mine went in for a routine checkup and they did an STD test... in which she then found that her BF was cheating on her (she was a little suspect before, but didn't ask for the STD test, it was just done) 🙁
