My girlfriend burps a lot. Whether shes hungry, full, anything. She just burps a ton. She said she's been doing it since she was about 12. During a normal phone conversation of about an hour in length, she will burp probably four or five times. And I'm talking LOUD burps. It doesn't seem to be influenced by the foods she eats. She drinks carbonated beverages about twice a week, otherwise its water. It isn't uncomfortable or painful, she just... burps.

Anyone have any idea why thats happening?

LOL

Gases in her stomach are expanding and being expelled through her mouth.

Perhaps some antacids?

Has she ever seen a doctor about this?

And I nominate this for thread of the week if it can share the honor with the crazy asian ladies smearing glue on someone's car.

Sounds a bit rude to me. Perhaps after the doctor a short brush up on her manners might be in order.

That would be a deal breaker for me. Burping and Farting are a mans domain. When Im out with a girl, thats the last thing I want to hear/smell.

From my wife, who shares a similar, er, problem:

"It's better to bear the shame, than bear the pain."

Please, please, PLEASE let me know if you EVER solve this problem

There's no reason for someone to burp loudly -- she has no manners. Dump her.

Well, look at the bright side, at least she won't have problem with you burping... Why do girls make such a big deal out of it???

If that is her one flaw you are a lucky man.

She must make for great conversation while watching ball with friends...

I often have this problem too. Started when I was around 16 (now 27), and I burp like a midget that's just drunk 10 cans of coke. I don't fart really. Just burp. Antacids do nothing, just make me burp more. But I don't care because I'm a man and my burping soothes me.
