Another title to this thread might have been "Darwinism at work!"

how is it the movies fault? the movie was based on a book, the book was written by j.k. rowling, shouldn't it be her fault for writing the book? Heck she wouldn't be born if her mom hadn't of gaven birth to her, so i guess its her moms fault...Wait, her mom couldn't give birth if she wasn't born, now lets blame the grandma!

*sigh*

And of course, the girl's mother will try to sue not only the picture company, but B.K. Knowles, the lady that invented Harry Potter to begin with. Her daughter needs some counseling. Her son, who was supposed to be watching the kid, needs a boot in the @ss. The mother just needs a smack, period.

Maybe they'll pull all those broomstick flying scenes from the movie. ;)

It happened with "The Program" with the scene where the dudes were lying down in the middle of the freeway while reading Sports Illustrated. Some dumbasses imitated this and were killed or seriously injured. Granted, this was done by teenagers and not a 4-year-old...

I completely agree.
it reminds me of the simpsons episode when bart calls australia, and is supposed to be kicked in the butt with a huge boot, yet he evades it. ahahhaha, bring out the big boot!

Actually, there were numerous cases of children (particularly young girls) attempting to fly using a broom after the film "The Wizard of Oz" was released. Some of them were injured if I recall correctly.

anyways, how do you seriously injure yourself by jumping off the kitchen counter? The worse that can happen is probably breaking your leg...

that and i was afraid of heights anyway =D

UMM why was a 4 year old watching HP to begin with??

Sorry when my girls watch even cartoons that do things like that I always tell them now we don't do that it is just for pretend on TV. Granted they are 3,2,1 but they have never tried anything YET *crosses fingers*

It is the flipping parents fault for not talking to her about not trying the things if they let her watch the movie. Is not it PG ..obvioulsy (sp?) there was NO parental guidence for that girl. How sad for her.

I watched the very short video on that link page- it was in a trailer home. Maybe she hit the coffee table? <rimshot>

Nope, I didn't. I think anyone with a BRAIN regardless of their age knows how gravity works and human = rock.

Maybe mommy beat her up but made up this story so she wouldn't get blamed?

This story reminds me of the urban legend (?) of the Superman halloween costume: "Warning: Cape does not enable user to fly." I completely agree with the whole lack of parental guidance issue, and believe that lawsuits for this kind of crap are used as a means for parents to avoid admitting personal responsibility. And, of course, for greed.
