ORLANDO, Florida (AP) -- A 13-year-old girl testified Monday that a Walt Disney World worker dressed as the beloved character Tigger fondled her breast while she posed for a photo with him and her mother.

Interesting case. Hard to tell if he's guilty or not. The hands on that costume are pretty big.

Isn't there about 3 feet of padding? Or are their hands not in the costume to make it easier to do things while dressed up?

Saw this last time it was up, when the whole thing first happened.

Based on the fact that the family waited a few days to report it, it looks like they're just going after the Disney money.

If that's the case, they are looking to send an innocent guy to the sex offender registry on their way. That's probably why he rejected the plea bargain.

Where's that link to the girl who wasn't allowed to be at her middle school graduation.....

Hmm, wasn't that also in Florida?

I don't know what to think. Is this just a case of sue-happy tourists or a legitimate sex offender? As mentioned there is so much padding, what would be the point?

Oh, like a real woman would spend that much time on makup. :D

I doubt those costumes are grope-friendly, and nowhere has there been mentioned any other evidence that this guy has severe sexual issues. (No kiddie porn, no priors...) On the other hand, every sex offender starts somewhere. Could be this guy is damn smart and just now got caught. But if he was that smart, why'd he grope a girl in full view of the parents while a picture was being taken of him? Just doesn't make sense.

I'm waiting for more info before I really make a decision, but with what's been stated so far I'm leaning towards the "parents are moneygrubbing" theory.

I don't know why he would do it with a camera around and with the padded hands. But I guess it's feasable....

That would be my suspicion. With the underwhelming evidence against him and the fact that he rejected a plea bargain, added to the stuff I mentioned, it's looking more and more like some idiots attempting to go the McI'mFat American Way and sue sue sue.

I had a roomate that dressed up as many things as DisneyWorld and one of em was tigger. According to him those guys cant see a damn thing, thats why they always have handlers with them. Also the suits are like thick so u can't really feel much except when kids try and hug you. I dont see how this guy would be trying to cop a feel from some girl on purpose, i can see him accidently otuching something though due to the costume being so bulky but really everyone that works there is screned and tested from my understanding for this exact sort of thing before they go out especially in costume.

Yeah, I worked at Disney Orlando. I say that the padding and visibility in the costumes makes the claim bogus.

Additionally, (a) the two handlers are there to protect the guy/gal in the suit; (b) no one stays in the suit for more than 20 minutes before returning to the air conditioning; (c) the head never comes off the suit in front of the guests even if the guy/gal passes out from the heat; (d) the suits are fitted by height and not gender. The first time I saw a guy backstage with Minnie's skirt, bloomers, and shoes on I didn't know what to do with myself.

There's also a matter of the orientation of the accused cast member. I'd estimate a good 40% of my co-workers swung the other way. The characters seemed to have a much higher percentage... it might make for a decent defense if applicable.

haha, well at first i thought he might be innocent, but other women coming forward? casts more doubt. should have an age limit for workers inside those things, the creepy factor u know.

[iDuring opening statements, Jay described Chartrand as "a 36-year-old man who abused his Walt Disney World job to steal the innocence of a child."[/i]

haha.. well that goes too far.. 13 yr olds are not innocent these days;)

"Juror number 5 was dismissed from the panel after he tried to grope juror number 11 today while wearing a giant furry Tigger costume. Number 5 had this to say: 'I was just trying to see if you really COULD feel something through the paw!"

I wonder if the jury will be allowed to request a "test boob"....
