seriously though. just tell her you think she's cool and would she like to go out to see a movie or something. if she says no, then you're still friends.

Here is what you should think about:

Once you cross the boundaries, there is no coming back. If she knows you like her in "that" way, she will not see you in the same light as before. Is it worth it? Is the benefit greater than the possible loss of friendship? If so, go for it. If not, don't unless she hints the fact that she may have interest in you. It'll be awkward for her to hang with you if she knows you like her like that. Girls strongly believe in platonic relationships but guys tend to think in this manner; if you're beautiful, there is no way a guy can view you like 'one of the guys'. There will be a one-way sexual tension and that may interfere with your friendship.
