Gingrich is now committed to taking out Romney

Apparently all that talk about running a positive campaign is going out the window. Gingrich is going after Romney, and some pundits are claiming that he doesn't even care about winning at this point. He just wants to take Romney out.

This is going to get fun. Get your popcorn and lawn chairs out.

I loved his speech.

"All this negativity is destroying our country... now watch me go take out that asshole Romney in New Hampshire."

Typical Gingrich, it's all about him and screw America, screw the GOP, screw everyone. It's no wonder he's so loathed within his party.

The problem with this is that Romney is still the most likely GOP nominee. That means the more Gingrich tears up Romeny, the more he helps reelect Obama. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

He praised Santorum, almost sounded like wanted to be his VP
he can't think Santorum has a chance, but I think he's going to try his hardest to damage Romney regardless of what damage it does to the party and even if it means supporting a loser like Santorum.

This should be good, looking forward to the lulz. Half the stuff that Newt spews is downright trolling anyway, cannot wait to see the "non-positive" campaign side of him.

Newt will take out newt before newt getting around to Romney.
Now that the process is back in the land of sanity, i.e. not iOwa, Romney will win big.
And thus huge wins for "Obama" come Nov 2012.
But Perry? Bachmann? What a tragic waste of money.
All that waste... We could have maybe cured a cancer, or give poor kids a hot school lunch for a year.
So terribly terribly tragic.

After Romney supporters' negative ad campaign destroyed Gingrich in Iowa, perhaps Gingrich would prefer to have Obama over Romney. I love successful revenge stories, so I wish Newt the best of luck.

For those who have not heard, Michelle Backmann dropped out of the race today after her rather poor 5% of the vote showing.

As I will take the advice of our OP, and get out my lawn chair, popcorn, and even throw in some beer and a few barf bags. Who will be the next lucky man to drop out of the 2012 GOP primaries?

Lol. He'd be worse than Palin as a running mate. Gingrich is a pompous lunatic of a moron who connived his way into temporary political relevance, and now that his superiority complex is blown he's lashing out more impotently than a snail trying to rape a tiger. I foresee many lulz in upcoming news broadcasts.

I live in NC. We don't vote until May. Typically the primary is over by then. I.e., I rarely ever see any political ads. I'm curious what the heck kind of ads the Romney PAC was running to cause Gingrich to blow his gasket like this.

Can anybody describe these ads?

This. Gingrich didnt want any of them to do negative campaign stuff but now that he got pwned by it he is pulling the gloves off.

I'm thinking Santorum looks like a good VP candidate for Romney. Swing state, more tea party credentials, massive big business and insider connections.

This article describes some of them.

You can probably find the ads themselves somewhere. Maybe youtube or the romney PAC website.
