Those are differnet drawings then I've seen before, designs supposidly "submitted" to the patent office. I don't see how either of those could stabilize themselves...you get a 200lb person shifting their weigh that far above a balance point, and somethings got to give.

Methinks it's a huge publicity stunt. Just because the CEO of Amazon is in on it doesn't mean its true. When your company is hemmoraging money, you'll say anything for some cash
 
Looks neat, but municipalities all over are passing ordinances against any type of powered transportation like this being used on city streets or sidewalks, I hope potential owners have a big yard!!!

Who cares about the CEO of Amazon? Dean Kamen is the inventor, THAT'S the huge deal... if you know his history
 
I know his history, and I know hes a little eccentric. If I was as eccentric as him, I wouldn't think twice about pulling a prank on the world like this. Hell, if I had the capibility, I'd be doing the same thing just to laugh at the world when I say &quot;Gotcha&quot;

From what I've read of Kamen he isn't a joke. I dunno if this will be as good as other people have said it was (kamen hasn't claimed it will change the world), but its gonna be interesting. Kamen is the shiznit!
 
I'm not claiming HE's a joke, I'm suggesting that maybe this is an elaborate prank to prove something about humanity. He's developed several useful inventions, but I saw the thing on The Early Show about him, the guy's a little strange
 
He is strange but I think that based upon his past history he wouldn't undermine his own reputation by orchestrating a prank like this. Anyway hes strange cause he's better than us 🙂 hehe

I'm just jealous that he has sweet cars, sweet house, and pilots himself to work in a helicopter. Plus hes a bloody genius.
 
Kamen is no prankster.. he built a wheelchair that can go up and down stairs.. that's pretty sweet. I think this is for real. I think the object here is to provide a fast, efficient, CLEAN way of transporting yourself to a job that isn't more than a few miles away. The Stirling engine is very sweet... runs on anything from solar power to hydrogen, diesel, propane, etc.

PS: www.thesmokinggun.com IS a cool site.. tons of documents you wouldn't normally see. They have Tom Cruises &amp; Nicole Kidman's divorce papers, for instance.
