Gin is gross.

After having a very bad experience with gin, I will never drink it again.

I also now NEVER buy anything Pine scented. Even thinking about the smell makes me nauseous.

Seriously, it tastes like a pine tree. Vodka, on the toher hand, is awesome.

Saying that vodka, easily the worst-tasting of all hard liquors, is "awesome" invalidates anything you might say about gin.

What have you been drinking? Vodka doesn't really "taste," which makes it a great mixer and easy to shoot.

what are you using to measure your shots, a thimble? Vodka has a taste, just like damn near every other liquor out there. Unless your parents are duping you with water in the vodka bottle, there should definitely be a taste. 😛

Now, vodka that has been frozen becomes more mellow certainly, though hardly flavourless. I find it hard to tell the difference between a good grappa and a vodka that's been frozen.. similar tastes to me..

But, nothing beats sambuca for straight shots... mmmmm sambuca..

😀

I tried it with some OJ, but that's about it. Gonna give it a shot on another day with the lime I gues 😛

Try it with 7-Up or Sprite... still tastes a bit "piney", but the sweetness of the pop actually makes it a great combo...

one of my first mixed drinks when i was kid... noone in my house drank Gin, so the bottle was always available...

😕

You sure you drank gin? Sounds like Pine Sol. Gin has a slight citrus taste, kind of like grapefruit. Good vodka is nearly tasteless.

Bombay Sapphire is pretty good, but ive been on a tequila drive recently. I drink Patron Silver straight from the bottle, no chaser needed. Goes down real smooth!

Shopping for gin based on price is not a good idea. Bombay orTanqueray Gin is some good stuff.

Gin and tonic with lime is truly the best mixed drink ever invented.

For those of you who's experience is clearly limited to underage experimentation, gin is flavored with juniper. 😉

I've got a fifth of Beefeater and a handle of Bombay Sapphire in my liquor cabinet. I haven't gotten into either of them recently although I intend to this weekend. I'm a big fan of gin.

Gin isn't too bad. Vodka, on the other hand....well me and vodka don't get along. 5 o' clock is some nasty shit.

My current drink of choice are Jaeger-bombs (monster instead of red bull though).

Try a gin buck:

Fill collins glass with ice
Add 1tbsp of freshly-squeezed lemon juice
Add 1.5oz gin (I choose Bombay Sapphire)
Fill with ginger ale (I choose Schweppes)
Stir gently

I have never met a person who doesn't like them.

I would say I probably drink a 40oz bottle of Bombay Sapphire per week.
