I've never been, but I do know that my friend who is allergic to garlic can not drive anywhere in the vicinity of Gilroy at any time of the year.

Wow.... that must suck. I never heard of a garlic allergy.

I wasn't too impressed by it when we went last year. Food was decent, but way overpriced, with long lines at all of the good stands. That wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the blistering sun, 103+ degree weather, and total lack of shade. Garlic ice cream was pretty good though.

you eat, then eat some more. Everything with garlic, garlic ice cream, pasta, garlic fries. And yes, 100+ degree weather.

Other than that, pretty much like any other festival, there's arts and crafts, some cooking shows and live music. If you live in the area it's worth it, otherwise I'd say forget it.
