Theres always schick, bic, norelco and all electrics, and generics.

We also just started selling a new razor for women under the name "Veet" it supposed to be a bladeless shaving system, the razors have rubber heads and you apply a lotion similar to Nair and it loosens the hair at the root. Then you "shave" with the rubber razor and it pulls the hair free.
 
Don't forget the bag-o-cheap yellow bic razors.. with only one blade

I personally prefer it over the Mach3..
I like how they put the thin wires over the razor so it doesn't give you razor burn.

Oh? I have the Mach 3 power... seems to be my favorite. The quattro seemed to tear at my skin... so there you have it.
 
I don't feel there is a monopoly here.....Gillette just makes a better product.

If you like Gillete better than any other of their competition, then they have earned their place. You can't call it a monopoly when people choose something because it is good.

i tried Shick Quattro, i use to use those disposable 3 blade shicks and they were god, the ones advertised by agasy? that tennis player. The mach 3 turbo just works really well.
Unless you meant an overall monopoloy because Gillette (or the company that owns it) pretty much owns everything else out there
 
It is somehow a monopoly, and it is enforced by patents. However, while the playing field is not totally fair for everyone, I think there is enough competition. Remember, Intel is not a monopoly as AMD is able to ship 15% of microprocessors for PC (ok, 18% or so)

not really. the competition just sucks. schick sent me theirr 4 blade thing with a nice aluminum handle and all. but its head is huge and unweildly..it just is inferior to the mach 3.
