First new setup in awhile....I just pulled the trigger at Amazon for the gaming GT and I have a 4790k. My question is on the motherboard. I got what I thought was a pretty good price for Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NZVZXCQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Egg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...gabyte_z97_motherboard-_-13-128-702-_-Product

So....here is my question: Is there a revision on this board? Could the Amazon board be the old one? Or am I overthinking this?

Thanks.

Gigabyte has a decent website. The board looks to be currently in Rev1.0 only. Should be the same board that Newegg is selling.

Looks like a nice board!

B Try B: I agree. I tried to avoid it in my price range, and the PLX chip was more important. I read up on it, and there is a new driver that supposedly addresses the reduced data when using the RJ 45. And another option to change firmware to another model using same hardware (hope I got that right) at overclockers.net......so......X16/X16 here I come.

Mitch: Thanks.....I did look at the FAQ and the "more info" and didn't see anything. The main reason I did not want to miss that was the MB came from a PP, not Amazon itself.
I am looking forward to it: DH14, 12GB Ripjaws, Xonar Essence, Lian Li A05, SSD and SLI/Crossfire TBD. I have had this case forever sitting on a shelf. I have some good quiet Scythes, the top LL vent, and am leaning towards 970s depending on what AMD pulls out of its hat. Thanks guys!

Where is that thread on overclockers?

I've personally used a Killer Network card the past 5-6 yrs. It might be able to reduce system latency but the thing I find nice is the ability to change the TCPNoDelay, and TcpAckFrequency through the Killer GUI. Plus the applications priority does work.
