Gigabyte X800 XT PCI-E Bios Problems

i finally just put my computer together

AMD 3000+ WINCHESTER
MSI NEO 4 PLATINUM
Corsair 1GB 3200 XLPT
GIGABYTE X800 XT PCI-E

right when i installed it, the first the bios screen had all these color lines and all the words and crap were all scrambled up. i formatted and installed xp. it happened in windows also so i installed the new radeon 5.2 drivers and everything is working fine in windows. i can play hl2 fine and everything.

but every once in a while i would restart or turn on my computer. the first bios screen would have all those color lines and artifacts and crap again. sometimes the bios screen is fine sometimes its not.

when it shows the raid controller and windows loading there is nothing wrong. only the first bios screen where it shows my specs and when i go into bios setup

would anyone know what the problem is? even when my system is not oced it would do this.

the card is not oced at all

any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

normally that would be a symptom of a video card going bad. In windows, are you getting artifacts if you bump up to hi res (1600x1200) and hi quality (32-bit)? If you get artifacts, it could be the RAM modules on the card going bad.

well im using a antec 480 neopower.

and i flashed the msi bios to the latest beta version to see if any changes.

i also noticed the bios screen would always go crazy after i cleared the cmos. but i am able to get into the cmos setup fine.

right now im wondering whats causing the problem
