HI all. Today i installed new GPU: Gigabyte Windforce 3x GTX 770. All programs works ok. No crashing . Asic is great 97%. Boost is 1267mhz on auto. But i am worried about temps.

Max temps are 79-81 in 3dmark 13 and 79 C in Unigine 4.0 . Auto boost is on 1267mhz but when is 80C then goes to 79C with 1254mhz boost.
I check Metro Last Light. And my boost is decreasing from 1267mhz to 1210mhz with 80C.

So that tems are not too high? All card settings and fan on default . Unigine 4 at least is no crashing now at that card. But i am worried now about temps. RMA and change to another example? . But damn those temps.

In the network, meet people, for which the temperature above 70C or even 61C is not rising. Shocked
maybe my card is defective ... ?

Well, what's your case and fan setup like? What is the ambient temperature? Some people, with extremely low temps, live up in the north and have their windows open, lol, or cases with a more open air design/higher airflow and they never give details like ambient temps or case and fan (and fan speed) setup. Just that their temps are in the crazy low digits.

Room is 20C temp. Case is ok. On the same case but with Lightning 770 i have 72C. On Windforce 770 is 80C always. RMA ?

Let me get this straight. I've seen several of your posts here - You RMA'ed 7 GTX 770 lightnings based on temperatures. You're about to RMA a Gigabyte 770 based on temperatures. I don't want to be mean or anything. But i'm about 99.9% sure that the GPUs aren't your issue. Maybe you should post pics of your case.

I can't think of anyone who had 8 bad GPUs in a row. And RMA'ed all 8 of them. Like , are you for real or what. Sorry, not trying to be rude. But the GPUs aren't your issue. Maybe it is your case air flow or user error (all due respect of course). But not the GPUs. Nobody gets 8 bad GPUs.

Maybe you should get a reference shroud card. Sounds like your case is a disaster.

Edit: your temperatures are also fine. Not sure why you'd RMA a card that is working as intended.

Yes indeed. After 7x RMAs of Lightnings 770 i decide to change brand and buy Gigabyte WF3 770. Now only problems is that i have high temps like 79-80C. Thats all. From a good side, Heaven 4.0 is not crashing now
smile.gif
All is stable .

With Lightnings 770 Heaven 4.0 was crashing always. Lightnings 770 are crap , i will dont buy anymore. They are not fully stable after factory .Because on Windforce 770 Heaven 4.0 can pass without crashing now.

But i am only worried about temps on Windforce 770 now . Thats all. And i know what i'm saying. Heaven 4.0 on all Lightning 770 cards on stock was crashing driver, when on Windforce i can pass Heaven 4.0 even 24h without single crash.

I see. Your temperatures are fine. Keep in mind that open air cooled cards require a ton of case air flow for optimal temperatures. If your case is a SFF, your temps will not be as good.

The solution? Live with the 80C temps. Those temps are perfectly and completely fine. You could also look into a reference card as well, because I highly suspect the air flow in your case is not good at all.

The temps are ENTIRELY dependent on how well you optimized your case air flow. That's how aftermarket cards work - If you didn't do your job properly, your temps will be worse. Maybe you should post pics of your case so we can critique how poor your case is in terms of air flow.

In any case, despite that fact, your temps are fine. The temps other people get will not be the same, because their ambient temperatures are different and their cases are different. Comparing your temps with that card to someone elses temps with that same card is a waste of time. Because you can't compare since chassis and case air flow makes a huge difference. IMO, I suspect your case is a disaster. Which is why you should post pics.

But in any case. Temperatures are a-okay. Your card is working as intended.

I think you'd better RMA it. You'll never hit your max OC with those temps so you'll be losing frames, and the replacement card is guaranteed to perform better.

What do you think? Maybe 1 fps if that.

Are you going to post pics of your case? Sounds like your air flow is garbage. But your temps are fine. And your performance won't be affected meaningfully.

In any case, it sounds like a PS4 may be right up your alley.

So try to replacement then? Hope new card will be on 75C -.

I can't tell if this is a troll thread or not. I'm leaning towards it being a troll thread. After reading this same thread from you 7 times. 8 GPU RMAs. Is this for real? Buddy, the GPUs aren't your problem. Okay. What a disgusting abuse of the RMA process likely due to user error/lack of knowledge, NO OFFENSE. But it has to be mentioned. Not trying to be mean, so i'll just bow out.

I've heard that many manufacturers don't send out their highest bined cards until your 10th RMA when they realize it'll be cheaper to send you one of the good cards rather than have you continue to RMA their lower quality "hot" cards. Have you noticed any increase in quality with each successive RMA you've conducted with the same company? I'm curious if the increase in quality is progressive with every RMA or if it comes all at once on the 10th RMA.

Why stop at 10 RMAs. We could get some real qualitative data after 50 RMAs.

I think you're mocking me and not taking the OP's problem seriously. :colbert:

Not at all! The last time I RMA'ed the same hardware 10 times in a row, the 10th chip was .7C cooler. With that .7C I was able to overclock my bus speed by another 1MHz. Well worth it.

So higher than average but not out of spec temps are a valid reason to RMA now?.

On a side note I have the same card it never gets over 62c at full load fan speed never tops 40%. Never tried running fan full speed have no need to.

as stated before needed to know more about cooling situation

OP not only RMA'd 7 perfectly good Lightnings, he also complained about normal temps on his 770 TF. There really is no helping him, he never listens to the advice we give.
