Has anyone here heard on any type of problems occurring when using a GB video card on a GB motherboard? I have the Gigabyte SINXP1394 board and want to purchase a Gigabyte 5900XT vid card and don't want any unwelcome issues. A coworker, who doesn't really know sh!t, says that it is a bad idea to match manufacturers this way, so I thought I'd see what the general anandtech consensus was.

Thanks,

Mcurphy

Your coworker really doesn't know sh!t. There is absolutely no reaon why using the same mfr for 2 things in a computer would cause problems.

ya that is just silly, i know of one case where an asus board and asus videocard didn't get along, but that was an isolated incident. i have a ga-7vaxp ultra and a gigabyte 9800xt here, not a problem at all.

Thanks for the replies. Coworker is a dumbass, as I had suspected, but I thought I'd ask just in case.
