Gigabyte RMA blows

So I would be more descriptive, but then I would have to infract myself.. Bottom line, their online screens won't allow my RMA, even though I have a real serial number, it gives me an error and the screen and I can not submit the RMA !!! It says "enter the real serial number"

So, a one year old 780ti is dead....

Last year there were a few threads regarding issues with Gigabyte RMAs.

Unfortunately there are only a handful of companies you can buy from and expect an RMA to be honored.

I won't buy a non EVGA Nvidia product at this point.

Can you call them?

So I called them. It was a refurb, so 90 day warranty. DOA in 6 months. No more gigabyte for me.

You posted this thread in Nvidia section. So this would imply that this problem is related only to Nvidia cards.

See? This split of the VC&G forum based on brands has some drawbacks.
Since nowhere in my discussion am I comparing AMD to NVidia, this is the correct place to post. If I was comparing, then general forum would be the place.

You said 1 year, and you left out "refurb".

Not fair, imo.

I thought it was a year, then looked up my receipt when I talked to them. 11/2014. And I thought it was new until I looked at the receipt .

At least its a way for me to downsize my folding farm. I need to.

Almost all refurbs have crappy 90 day warranties like that in the US. I can't believe anyone would buy them, since they seem like they're usually only 10% or so cheaper, at least when I see them listed on newegg.

It was $100 off. And I have gotten refurbs for years. From newegg, its just returns they can't sell as new or open box I think, never had this happen before, so lesson learned.

The G1 is a bit overrated by the community currently.

Good card for sure, but the MSI 6 and EVGA SC+ are within 3db tops and just as strong overclocking since none of them are binned at all (despite what Gigabyte claims on their website...nope, confirmed not binned).
