Well, if a Crysis patch fixed the problem, why have a BIOS update?

Gigabyte may have made a grave error or at the least a misleading one. I hope for those that upgrade to this bios it does not harm there new Z170 motherboards.

The 8016 error that is occuring in Windows 10 Right now is due to Microsofts Windows 10 Code that prevents DRM from running.

I currently have personally encountered Securom and SolidShield to be my main culprits.

NO bios will stop Microsoft from preventing DRM from running. Gigabyte I regret to say has accidentely found instances of 8016 happening in Windows 7 and 8 but they are not related to Windows 10 DRM policy. Win 7 and 8 allowed these DRM to run. GB is claiming that "Some Games may run if you do this new bios in reference to 8016"

Personally I hope by more and more people bringing the truth out that GB will benefit for it.

Again for Windows 10 users this Bios will not help DRM Games. They can be both digital downloads and on disc. Origin is selling Digital Games with the DRM i listed. Games I own that I cant play are

Shift 2
BurnoutParadise Ultimate Box
NFS Hot Pursuit
Medal of Honor
Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars

These are all EA games and I am getting Stonewalled by EA about this.

Dead Space is one of the Games and I have to have that game so I was foreced to by it again for 20 dollars on steam. There is no Securom on Steam games.

I personally am very angry not at Microsoft but at how EA is trying to blow this off and dump all these games on Steam hoping people will just rebuy them there.

If I were a Sheep and Passive I would just let them try and hood wink me but i will see this through to the end until all companies envolved face the facts.

What is upsetting most about Gigabyte about this at this point is that the Bois for this on the GA-Z170X Gaming G1 , the 500 dollar flagship board is labeled BETA. but for all other boards underneath it in price it is not labeled BETA. That is very uncool.

This issue cannot die and I hope more and more people bring it to every forum they can so EA and GA and anyone else can fix it and benefit from the info. GA is too busy with other Bios revision issues than this one when they cannot do anything about it.

What is this?

Read the posts above guy. Other intelligent people are following this issue for different reasons. The main one to blame Skylake for 8016 but if it is caused because of DRM standards in Windows 10 it flat out doesnt matter. Microsoft is NOT changing their DRM policy. The DRM MUST be stripped from games to work in Windows 10 . Period.

"All depends on what you consider to constitute a 'faulty' processor. There are plenty of inconsequential errata present in Skylake, as is the case with every CPU out there. Just take a look at page 8 for the list of known issues - http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www...pec-update.pdf

Like I said there are too many things that GA may need to address in Bios Rev. Ill wait till those times come personally .

EA really is crooked in what they are doing dumping all there non compatible games off to Steam and expecting people to rebuy them. Pathetic
