Finally, it is here.
And here in the Netherlands it is for sale for 298,80 Euros. And available it seems.
It is good i will be not going out for a lot of weeks since i started a hobby project for the raspberry pi .

Here is a positive review.

We review the Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING armed with 8GB graphics memory. This WindForce 2X cooled mainstream graphics card series will allow you to play your games in both the Full HD 1080P range as well as in WQHD (2560x1440). And all that at a rather reasonable price of roughly 279 USD/Euro.

Looks like a great option, but I'm still leaning towards the MSI Gaming X despite it costing +$20.

Looked like a decent card in that review, I would like to see a review of just the 480's so see what they look like between them. I usually lean towards Saphire but I've seen great cards from many of the AIB's.

My Sapphire RX 480 doesn't even work, so I might pick something else if I end up returning it.

I replied this same information to another thread, but I just resolved an issue where my Sapphire RX 480 wouldn't work until I enabled boot UEFI first in my bios, so maybe give that a try.

I have the Gigabyte G1 Gaming Rx 470 4gb and can confirm it is a solid card, very happy with the purchase. It is the same cooler as the 480 version and for me (in a Corsair Air 240 case) the GPU basically maxes out at 65 degrees C, with the fans at a 900 rpm. Audible, but its a fairly soft background noise. Good card.

As I own this card I can confirm it is an excellent product. The only issue I had with it was its weak default fan profile (and subsequent crashing in-game from overheating), which was easily fixed in MSI Afterburner. Now it runs cool and stable with a core clock of 1332 and the fans rarely going over 70 percent, where it is still barely audible over my NZXT Phantom 240 case fans. Witcher 3 at Ultra+Hairworks+HBAO and Ark at Epic run buttery smooth.

Edit: At stock clocks (1290), it usually draws under 125 watts (definitely under 130) in game, and that's with the compatibility mode DISABLED. So that fud about it being a 150+ watt card is BS. On the other hand, with my card at 1332/PL+20/mv+12, it does get to about 155w. :D

Make sure you have the latest bios update for the graphics card, there are still cards out there with a bios that uses a wrong fan profile and lets the chip over heat. After the bios update, this should be resolved. For as far as i know, the bios solving the issue is F7 and the latest bios available is F8.

F8:
  1. Release for SAMSUNGMemory
  2. ATI Source BIOS Version:015.050.000.000
  3. BIOS frequency:ENG1120/1266MHz, MEM 2000MHz
  4. Memory: 8000MHz
  5. Improve the Fan Performance
  6. Release for F1~F7 BIOS

Information is here :

Is your freezing problem solved ?

Excuse me for the delay in answering your post.. The issue exists for overwatch and wοw (blizzard). Battefield 4 plays correctly. I made a lot of acts but the issue exists. Flash new bios F8, installed the last driver (16.12.1)...Installed various drivers (eg. 16.7.1, 16.7.3). I dont know if changing settings of crimson software (eg. compatibility option) are needed. My monitor is very old, Samsung SyncMaster 206BW, is it problem?
My last action is that : Clean installation Windows 10 x64, Radeon Software Crimson 16.11.5. I played Overwatch (epic, ultra graphics settings) about 90-120 minutes without any problem..after that it crushed. I will try to play Dota 2 . If it makes issue again, I will install win 7 . Maybe, it fixe it. I am very sad. :( Wait my news. Thank you guys.

Edit: Black Screen.......(Dota 2)...:(

To be honest.
I cannot imagine a monitor being the issue.
I noticed you have an I5 6600. A quick google searching for overwatch and rx480 produces some hits where there might be a conflict with the internal gpu of (for example) the I5 6600.

For specs:
https://ark.intel.com/products/88188/Intel-Core-i5-6600-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz

I know from experience that both igpu and discrete gpu can be used at the same time with windows 10.
Can it be that you have the igpu (Intel® HD Graphics 530) also enabled but not using it under windows 10 ?
Please check in the device manager of windows 10.
Try disabling the HDgraphics 530 in the bios if possible. Otherwise try disabling the (Intel® HD Graphics 530) in windows 10.
It might be that the game has a conflict when you have the igpu and the rx480 both enabled under windows 10.

I have not much experience with disabling the igpu of an I5 6600. Maybe some other forum posters can help ?

Edit: My vga card is defective. It installed to another system (windows 7). I called the eshop that I bought it. I will return it. Thanks a lot .

Over at OcUK forums top two favourites are XFX GTR Black edition and MSI, due to good cooling and very good heatsinks etc, here is a review on youtube of XFX https://youtu.be/zWASNajSdpg .

You have to love the tool-less fan swap that only takes a second or so on XFX .

My XFX 480 GTR 8GB Black edition has been despatched.
