Okay so I'm going to get the Gigabyte's 280X, but I'm kinda worried the PSU I have wont be sufficient.. Its an Andyson 500w 80+ Bronze.. its not really a good brand (I think?).. Is the PSU good enough? because I only have just about enough to get the 280x with my own money... Or do i have to get a better psu like an FSP raider 550w 80+ silver?? please help asap thanks.

A good quality 500W power supply should be plenty for 280x. I'm running 290x on 500W without any problems. However, this is the first time I hear of Andyson power supplies so I have no idea if they can deliver the power they're rated at.

Agentsword can you post the exact model of the Andyson PSU? Where are you buying from? Post a link to an online store if possible.

FSP Raider 550W is not necessarily better just because it is more efficient. Efficiency does not mean reliability or quality. Based on JonnyGuru's review of the Raider 750W, the 550W unit is probably similarly average.

Also, I wonder if buying a 280X now is a good idea, they are extremely overpriced in most places due to short supply.

its an AD-F520A2-36. Heres the linkhttp://www.andysonet.com/products_page.php?lang=en&class_name=Power+Supply& class_no=43&st_page=0

Scroll down to the 500w there.

I have just about enough cash 490 SGD to get a R9-280X. I might ask my dad for some cash if I need a better power supply - what would be better under a 100 bucks?

Andyson PSU's

The 500W model is Bronze rated with 32A (384W) on the +12v rails.

Seems like a decent enough 500W unit with enough power for that 280X.
