Gigabyte Quad 6 now for sale!

I'd like to see a more in depth reviw of that mobo. Neither reviewer could get to the 400fsb like Gigabyte said it would. The last bios, the D25, was a beta bios in the last review. Now that Conroe has officially been announced and the NDA lifted maybe we'll see a updated review with a set of Conroe chips. hopefully Gigabyte increased the OCing performance since June 30th.

Ja, $90-100 more than the DS4 is a mighty premium. I am considering a system with an o'erclocked Allendale to start with so that ability is paramount, but not sure if I want a full-sized board or a revision 1.0 either. So it's a bit akin to the release of the 865 redux. At that time I caved and it worked out fine but this time I am not as desperate to upgrade and may just hold off awhile for schtuff to settle (tech and prices).

Actually, that's the DS3. The DS4 is not available yet.

GA-965P Comparison Sheet

MSRP's:
DS3 $151
DS4 $199
DQ6 $229

Latest bios is D27, Gigabyte is getting 498FSB with a X6800 B2 Stepping 6 at 6x multiplier, we have a new retail board coming to us, our initial results will be up tomorrow but it turns out we had an early engineering board so our results are not what most expect out of this board. We will have a full review on it once the new board arrives.

HOLY CRAP! Almost a 500Mhz FSB!? Wow! Thanks Gary for the update! Looking forward to the review and the rereview (if thats a word) hehe . If this holds true for this board it will be a hard one to get. Heck, I'd be happy with 400Mhz FSB. But 500? DAMN!

Too bad Anandtech's review will be based on an engineering sample (why do it?)

Results over @ Xtremesystems are not that good with the retail board right now.

I'm getting one though!

Our preview will be with the engineering board, the full review will be with a retail board. Either way, the board does have a ceiling. 😉
