GIGABYTE P965 S3 REVISION 1 AND CORE 2 E8400

Guys i own a gigabyte p965 s3 rev1 motherboard and i dont know if this board supports the core 2 e8400.My mobo has fsb 1066 mhz natively but i can overclock it in order to accept the e8400.My question is will this work.The gigabyte site shows that the same mobo but rev2 edition supports this cpu.What do u think?
 
I have the exact same rev1 board and my E8400 would not post with it. I ended up getting an Asus P5K-Pro.
