Ok guys, here is my question.

Lets say I use an E6750 (2.66GHz @ 1333 FSB) on a gigabyte P965-DS3 mobo which allows FSBs to 1066 only.
1) Will the E6750 run on it?
2) If yes, will it run at 2.4GHZ or 2.66GHZ?
3) Can the p965-ds3 mobo be modded to be upped to 1333FSB? If yes, how!?

Concerning a P35 chipset based mobo....
1) Will using an E6600 on such a board up the speed to 2.66GHZ? or will it run at stock settings?

Thanks for your inputs guys

Which revision DS3? Go here, find your version, and see what chips are compatible. If your board is rev 1.0/2.0 you are out of luck for the e6750, the board won't recognize the chip. Rev 3.3 with the F12 BIOS will use the e6750 correctly (2.66GHz).

On the P35 boards, an e6600 will be recognized as using a 266fsb and will be correctly clocked at 2.4GHz. However, nothing will prevent you from setting that fsb to 333 and cranking up the speed on that chip to 3GHz!! :D

E6600 will run at stock.

Some 975 and 945/965 boards are getting bios updates to support 1333FSB. I know MSI is doing it, but we'll have to wait and see.
