Gigabyte p67 UD3 vs UD4 question

is there a big performance difference between these two boards for a mid range gaming system with the same ram, video card etc?

I would suggest going for the UD4 instead if you can pay more for it. The UD3 is of PCIE 16x4x which is not suitable for a CF/SLi configuration. The UD4 has the more desirable PCIE 8x8x which is optimal for a CF/SLi configuration.

The UD4 has more power phases than the UD3 and would allow better OC capabilities. Aesthetics POV the black color on the UD4 is much nicer than the blue on the UD3. The SATA port placement on the UD4 is also much better than the UD3 allowing for better cable management

If that is the case then get the UD3 instead but the PCIE 4x should be used for anything else except another GC.
