So I tried to update the BIOS on my dad's recently built quad core workstation, but whenever I try to load a downloaded and extracted BIOS file from a flash drive it goes through the checking process and then gives me a "BIOS Check ID Error." I tried 4 different BIOS versions and it always gives this error. The board I have is a Rev. 2.0 version of the DS3R. Does anyone know how to correct this and update the BIOS?

I think on some versions of bios, you'll find an option within bios that protects the bios from flashing. If that's the case, disable this.

X2. IIRC the default for this setting is ENABLED. Which means that by default, you cannot flash the BIOS. Go hunt thru the BIOS and find the "BIOS PROTECT" or "BIOS FLASH" option and change it.
