Hello AnandTech. I explained my predicament below. If my logic is wrong at any point, or if someone can help me out, I would be most grateful, and would be happy to exchange ink coupons from Staples (tell me if this is not allowed).
I have a Gigabyte P35-DS3R inside of the case and I have connected the power supply, a 650 watt Cooler Master eXtreme, and the hard drive and some optical drives. My video card is an XFX 8600GTS XXX. My problem is that the case turns on (the fans start spinning), and I think that the motherboard turns on because the power switch to turn the case on is connected to the motherboard, so if the motherboard didn't turn on, the entire thing wouldn't turn on...
My problem is that the motherboard doesn't seem to have any life. I attached the 8600GTS into the PCI Express x16 slot, attached one power cable to its supply, and attached my monitor to the 8600GTS. I also found an old keyboard with a legacy connecting thing to navigate BIOS, because my other keyboards are USB. The video card's fan is turning, but the keyboard doesn't show any sign of life when I turn on my machine. My monitor doesn't display a signal, BIOS doesn't come up on my screen, and no LEDs on the keyboard turn on. What is the problem?
If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.
